Learnings have come through experiencing things and being taught about. Just like in school we were experiencing and being taught by the lessons. So nice to have these things in a life of every individual. Many have find it happy but pressured, fulfilling but difficult and so am I. Lots of things I gained in the school, lots of success I earned, and lots of subjects I enrolled. And one of the subjects I have is IT 19 and its description is "Presentation Skills in I.T". I have learned how to present formally, what is its effective guidelines from preparation to presentation. But before all of these let me introduce to you first on what is presentation and skills in relation to information technology, what could be their relationship and how did it connive with each other.
Presentation is the practice of showing and explaining of the content of a topic to an audience. Presentations are not easy to do well even if you are a designer or a professional speaker. Understanding your audience, having a catchy topic, being loud enough to be heard are all things that requires practice. Leaders make presentations to a wide variety of audiences, for example, board members, employees, community leaders and groups of customers. Usually there is a lost that can be quickly gained or quickly lost from a presentation. A little bit of guidance goes a long way toward making a highly effective presentation. We'll that is what presentation really is, how it relates to information technology is that big company's, huge industries and other firms needs IT, especially in presentation of their project heads to its project proposal. IT people knows these but that is just not IT professional can have, that is just one of its characteristics wherein he must know how to present. Business majors, business heads have units from IT for it is a necessity for them because everything they have were modernized and/or it is being computerized. For as we all know that the world today did already evolved from natural to digital and from manual to automation. Next to define is the skills. A skill is learned capacity to carry out predetermined results often with the minimum outlay of time, energy, or both. And to concatenate presentation and skills here is a small representation.You may be asked to lead a seminar either on your own or with other students. This enables you to develop and demonstrate a wider range of skills. Some people express theirselves better orally than in writing.
Presentation skills in IT now conjoined to have a good presentation and to help IT students to be prepared and be well informed about the things be applied and be avoided during presentation. As far as I know, all that matters in these subject is presentation using a Microsoft Powerpoint presentation slides as a medium. Yes, its just a slide provided that it has a concised statements and should be kept as simple and clear. Not like before that I just make slides with all the transitions, effects and artful things to make my presentation nice to look at but I was wrong there should be a consistency of the transitions with a background that fits of the topic being presented as what we were taught about. Then the Midterm comes with many impromptu activities that made us think instantly but wisely. It sharpens our minds, awakens us from the so tired walking around the campus during the day because of the building to building's shift of every subject. And made us laugh and be enjoyed because of the activities such as on the spot portrayal of the "what IT professional would be" in the real world, quiz bowl to enhance thinking skills and advertisement in preparation for the infomercial project. Final term did follows wherein it also serves as final judgement in either we will pass or fail. Here in this term pressure now arise, from the many requirements, projects and "should be" passed exams ratings. Countless sleepless nights experienced, a day with the group in gathering data from a requirement/project and a group study we made. IT 19 has also made us experienced these specially in our documentary film project, wherein it made us more closer friends than as we met each other before. A documentary film is a multimedia presentation that includes videos, pictures, music and text. In order to have made a documentary film a software will be used and it made us learn how to edit and have a full-lenght documentary film.
"Thank You" is the final word we will pass to our instructor Mr. Yolly G. Pelegrino. A simple thanks be imparted, for from just a one hour lecture and a one hour laboratory, a great things were experienced but it made us all friends.
